My family is growing! Well, my Stampin' Up! family that is. I know some of you were thinking I might be expecting.... Anyway, I have a new recruit! I am so excited. Mandi Brooks has joined my Stampin' Up! family! I have known Mandi for about 10 years. She lives in the Bonham area, were I lived from 1997-2002. Mandi started coming to my classes and workshops almost a year ago. She was hooked on stamping immediately. She is going to introduce Stampin' Up! to lots of wonderful people in Fannin County, it's going to be great. Mandi joins my other recruits, Tina and Shelly. The best thing about all of this, is now I am a Senior Supervisor! Yahoo!

Show off your Fourth of July pictures in this cute little lunch box tin!

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I just love red, white and blue. Anyway, in keeping with my love for patriotic stuff, I made this cute little tin to keep all our special patriotic themed pictures in it. .

The tin holds 3.5 x 5 cards perfectly. I decorated each card like a little mini scrapbook page and added a tab with the year. You can see the tabs close up by clicking: TABS

Here are the details: Cost of Class/Kit: $22

July 17 & 23 @ 7pm

I will plan an afternoon class if I get enough interest. If these dates for the class don't work with your schedule, let me know- I am sure we can figure something out.

This is a fast project. As always come prepared with your favorite adhesive, basic cutting tools and punches. If you don't have adhesive, I have some glue sticks you can purchase and you can use my tools. Bring your pictures. I would recommend printing/cropping them to wallet size ahead of time.

Class-Kit Includes:

  • one lunch box
  • 4 sheets of 12x12 SU card stock in Real Red, Night of Navy, Ballet Blue and Kraft for making cards for inside*
  • 10 6x6 sheets of coordinating patriotic paper
  • 30+ embellishments. buttons, clips, brads, ribbon slides, eyelets, star sequins, etc.
  • 10 18 inch strands of coordinating ribbon and fun fibers for embellishing pages and tieing around handle.

*The 4 12x12 card stock sheets will yield enough to make 24 pages.

Creative Cottage Get-Away!

Ok, so I am a little behind on posting. Everything after the 4th was a race to get ready for my very first scrapbooking retreat. I hosted the event at a brand new scrapbooking retreat place that just opened up in McKinney called Creative Cottage. It was so convenient for me because it is less than 10 miles away from our house. The owners Susanne and Melody are scrapbookers themselves and they put alot of thought into making this a wonderful get away for crafters. I encourage you to visit their website for more info, you won't regret booking a weekend there... I promise!

Ok, back to the retreat:
It was 11 friends and customers plus me. We had a great time. I did not do any planned Stampin' Up! projects for the group, everyone just basically did their own thing. Some girls made alot of gifty and decorative items, some scrapped, others made big letters, one even knitted. I mainly worked on our daughter's scrapbook. I completed more than 50 pages! I wish I had done more but I am thrilled! I know now that it helps to sort everything into little kits with pictures, embellishments, paper and all. I still have some journaling to do but the fact that the pages are pretty much complete and in the book in chronological order makes me VERY HAPPY.

I look forward to hosting a few more retreat there, stay tuned for dates!

Back in May, I had a Celebration at the Creative Cottage to celebrate my one year anniversary of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I had a fabulous cake made by my friend Tracey Meyers. People keep asking who did the cake, so here's her information:
