Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop Day #5

Today is my day on the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop.  Welcome and Howdy from McKinney, Texas to anyone new to my blog.

Special thanks to Mdm Samm at http://www.sewwequilt.com/ and Carol at http://justletmequilt.blogspot.com  for hosting and cheerleading the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop.  This is my fourth blog hop and I have enjoyed every single one.  It's been fun to think about Christmas when it is more than 100 degrees outside!

I thought long and hard about what to do and decided to share the Christmas item I am most proud of making first.  This is a table runner and napkin set I made for my In-Laws who have been married for more than 50 years!

I embroidered the family name and their wedding date on the runner and then each individual family members name on each napkin.

I've got a few extra napkins for when the older grandson "Eric" marries, but it's going to be a while before the other three grandchildren marry because they are 8 and younger.  Hopefully this Christmas linen set will become a family heirloom that the children today will cherish in the future.

The second item I am sharing is what I do what I make the most, zipper pouches!  I made this one for our daughter with Christmas fabric.  I've made many of these in MANY fabrics but as far as I can remember none in Christmas fabric.   Now that our daughter is 8, she really is into receiving gift cards because she can combine several and buy bigger ticket items that we normally don't buy. I thought it would be fun for her to carry all her cards in one fun pouch.  I am going to have to hide this until December-- wish me luck.

This pouch is made in the hoop using an embroidery machine.  This particular design is from Five Star Fonts and I have used it a gazillion times... really more than 100 times.  I will gladly give away one Christmas Zipper Pouch (made with your choice of Christmas Fabric from my stash) to one lucky person that leaves a comment.  I'll let Micaela our 8 year old pick the winner so direct your comment to her.

I hope you like my projects.   Be sure to visit the other girls on the blog hop today.  Again, thanks for stopping by.

LOVE the pouch too. I'm afraid that you are going to need to make another one though if you're going to have Micaela choose the winner. At her age, I'm sure she will be asking questions and you'll have to show her. LOL

The gift card pouch is such a great idea and I love it! Our family gives us a lot of gift cards, which, at our age, are much appreciated. They allow us to purchase something we might want, as well as being able to go out for dinner more often at our favorite restaurants.

  58. Hi, Micaela! How is Oreo? Your mom has shared with us some really neat things she has made. I know what it's like not to find your name spelled correctly on things at the store. I never could find things with my name spelled correctly, either. I love the hula zippered pouch your mom made for you with your name spelled correctly on it! I hope you enjoy the rest of summer and get the teacher that you want for 3rd grade!
